Hyper Demon's ethereal visuals can initially be a hindrance to this. The faster you kill enemies, the faster new ones enter the arena, letting you identify the order in which new enemies are introduced to try and figure out an efficient route through them. Initially it might seem strange that Hyper Demon only features four main enemy types, but it's routinely satisfying to figure out new strings of actions that let you bounce gracefully from one kill to the next, exploiting every weakness you find to speed up the process. ![]() The drawback in doing so is that it no longer drops that same crystal on death, which you can otherwise shatter to obtain a whole new laser charge.Įach of Hyper Demon's enemies feature these small decisions that you'll need to make when confronting them, which is more difficult when running around the arena while trying to both stay alive and remain aggressive. Instead, you can take aim at the crystal at its core with a precise laser shot (should you have one) to dispatch it immediately. It's easy enough to dispatch with regular fire from your hand, but that's usually not fast enough to ensure it doesn't spawn any other bothersome enemies. For example, the first enemy you'll encounter during each run is a floating well that spews out smaller skull foes while it's alive. Identifying efficient paths between enemies and anticipating where new ones will spawn is as important as having high accuracy, while understanding the behavior of each enemy will help you dispatch them faster. These are enhanced with a laser attack that you can fire off if you stop shooting long enough to manually absorb crystals that enemies drop on death, offering a precise, long-range option for your trouble.Īll these options are easy to grasp individually, but Hyper Demon demands they be used in harmony for you to really start climbing the leaderboards. Like Devil Daggers, you can hold down the shoot button for a steady barrage of bullets or tap it for a deadlier, close-range shotgun blast. Being able to get close to enemies to blow them away is half of the challenge, while the other is determining how best to take them out quickly. Each round still plays out across limited floor space that you can easily fall off of, but you're able to move around it much faster thanks to air dashes and chained bunny hops, the latter of which can be done indefinitely if timed right. Passive play, though technically a lot safer, won't improve your standings on the leaderboard, so much so that some of your shorter, more unhinged runs might yield better scores than ones that lasted twice as long.Īn expanded repertoire of mechanics, when compared to Devil Daggers, helps increase the pace of the action to match the new objective, too. The game doesn't end when the timer reaches zero instead, your score is determined by the amount of time on the clock when you die (or manage to reach the game's ending). Each enemy kill increases the timer by three seconds, encouraging you to string together kills in an elegant way to keep the action flowing. Each round starts with a timer at 10 seconds, which immediately begins to tick down. While Devil Daggers was focused solely on survival, Hyper Demon is all about aggression. ![]() ![]() It's also far more approachable than Devil Daggers ever was, making its compelling action more inviting. It's every bit as grueling and engrossing, with even more mechanics to wrap your head around during its intense but short runs. In many ways, Hyper Demon, the next game from developer Sorath, is the logical next step of that formula. With a focus on the most basic attributes of a shooter, Devil Daggers shone with its extreme difficulty and exceptionally high skill ceiling, inviting run after run for hours on end. Doom might be the most renowned shooter that launched in 2016, but the year also played host to another exceptional one: Devil Daggers. ![]() 9/27/2023 0 Comments Blood bowl 3 dark elves![]() Build both this way and keep them close and you really should never be losing the ball, even more so if you get Pass and Catch on them too. There are though three ways I see of developing a Runner, one is to maximise the effectiveness of Dump Off by taking Nerves of Steel. Should you need to make a break for it and can’t cover him then you can use other players nearby to have an outlet to keeping hold of the ball. So you should still make sure to keep the ball carrier safe from an easy hit like any other player holding the ball. Dump Off also isn’t a guarantee to keep hold of the ball and you will be a bit miffed if you fumble the pass and then they just rolled a push back on the hit. Coupled with their lower AV7 they can also get hurt if they get knocked down. They start with no defensive skills and also don’t have Dodge if they get bogged down. This can spread the play and defence out making it easier for you to move the ball off to another area of the pitch and screen them off again.ĭump Off doesn’t mean you should just leave your Runner open to being hit though. These combine to forcing the other team to have to look at covering all those nearby targets. This works well for Elves compared to other players as their higher agility means the tackle zone of the attacker is less of an issue and there will be more targets for you to pass the ball too who are likely to catch it. Dump Off is the key here as should the other team get to hit your Runner you can try a pass to a nearby team mate. There is also a temptation to be overly reckless with them as well.ĭark Elves are better at running the ball using screens and even cages, than passing like the other Elf teams. This leads to them being used in a somewhat different way than you may be used to using. The Dark Elf Runner though is faster and they also come with Dump Off rather than Pass and/or Sure Hands. Typically most Thrower types will be the same speed as their side’s Lineman. And mutations help distinguish their function from looks alone (unlike other races' 11 linemen).Dark Elf Runners are somewhat different than the more traditional Thrower builds of other teams. ![]() ![]() Why Chaos for this exercise? Because they're one of the few whose linemen already get a skill (Horns), and beastmen have the widest regular-roll skill selection (helping keep the TV low). It might get horribly slaughtered by dwarves (all Block) or elves (AG4, Block on key players), but it might also be amusing. I think this might be an interesting thing to try. And because open league is what it is, you'd at that point (TV 1000) be facing green teams without a spread of skills. That'd still leave you TV room for 11 skills. However, there was an interesting thought presented on the in-game chat making a team for open league, if you built it with just linemen (and a few rerolls), you could reach a state of being below 1000 in Team Value, while also having a few skilled players. It's better to just restart the team, and that's not something you really pull out in a league. So I won and got 50k, but need to spend 210k to get back to operating strength. ![]() And this was playing pretty carefully, not leaving myself next to block-capable foes on my turn or such. I won the opposition 3-0, but it killed one lineman and gutter runner, and the only one to level, the second blitzer, took a niggling injury necessitating replacement. ![]() And, one Skaven match later, I am forced to admit that yes, I am not doing that. ![]() 9/27/2023 0 Comments George traverso![]() Campbell was a director at many companies, including the Cyprus Amax Minerals Company, Eastman Chemical Company, and Mine Safety Appliance. On the other hand, though, there are a lot of other things that smell like this perfume too. I'm actually a little surprised that it isn't listed online among the most popular perfumes of all time. This is definitely an extremely popular fragrance that a lot of women wear, for sure. The minute I opened my sample of the feminine version of Sung by Alfred Sung though, and dabbed it on my wrist, I knew that I had smelled it many times before. It's not often that I smell a perfume and immediately recognize what it is because I'm not nearly enough of an expert with fragrances to be able to recognize a lot of them really fast without even asking, "what are you wearing?" It is a fragrance that may seem a bit out of place these days but it will endure fads and whims of the present and find its place among the classics. It is as precious, as romantic, and as much an anachronism as lacy gloves. It has real tenacious staying power and it is quite the sillage monster, a quality many contemporary fragrances lack. It dries down smelling of soft and powdery white flowers, a real gem among rocks for white floral lovers. To be exact, I smell lily-of-the-valley first and foremost, sweetened by other white flowers and grounded by woods. Sung is a very verdant white floral that I cannot help but associate with white lace. It was about time for a long overdue reunion. I had long forgotten the name of my friend's emptied bottle but I knew the scent immediately. She was a true friend–she forgave both my overindulgence with her bottle of Sung and my reparations in the form of an insult-in-a-bottle. I believe I even used up her bottle and tried to offer up a rancid bottle of Primo (Kmart's answer to Giorgio Beverly Hills) in exchange. I used to snoop around in her collection as our tastes ran similar. ![]() I remember my best friend from high school had this on her vanity back when everyone else had Sunflowers and Tresor on theirs. For a daring woman not shy to wear synthetic in the age of more natural perfumes. Reminiscences of the classic feminine Gloria Vanderbilt and Anais Anais Cacharel. The most appropriate word to define this fragrance? I would say "gummy". The dry down is a bit too much greasy and synthetic for my pleasure. A touch of animalic pattens and earthy/grassy elements locks the round of this particular masculine coming from the abysses of the past. The perfumed agreement of all those dense and resinous elements (vanilla, ripe fruits, mature floral leaves, galbanum, musk and moss) turns the smell out almost syrupy, "saccharosical" and "jammy". The begining introduces a touch of almost masculine toilette type of vibe with hints of bergamot and mossy lavender but the feel is evanescent as a meteor because the mellifluence is yet ready to smoulder and erupt. ![]() The bouquet of flowers is central and indiscernible in its single elements by a lait nose but what jumps in a while on mind (something lasting till the end) is a resinous and aromatic similar apricot/coconut taste elicited by the interaction from gummy galbanum, coriander (a touch of mint?), mellow peaches (pears yet?) ylang-ylang and orange over a mossy/vanillic base. ![]() The top notes influence the whole olfactory fatigue as this juice smells till the end of the trip more fruity and resinous (almost ripe) than properly floral. ![]() 9/27/2023 0 Comments Keybase global![]() ![]() See Keybase’s announcement for more details.
